Top five places to find pre-loved bargains

If you like a bargain and don’t mind shopping for pre-used items there’s a whole world of pre-loved goodies out there just waiting to tempt you into making a purchase. Read this whistle-stop guide for pre-used, pre-loved and pre-owned products and find out where the hottest bargains are right now!

  • Car boot: If you don’t mind getting up early on a Sunday morning a car boot sale is a good place to pick up a few bargains. The premise of a car boot sale is really simple. People turn up with a car full of stuff and flog it from the back of their vehicle. You can sell anything you like at car boot sale (as long as it’s legal!) and it’s a good place to hunt down the odd bargain.

  • Flea market: This isn’t a market for fleas. A flea market is a collection of stalls that have a number of second hand items for sale. They normally run once a week in busy market towns so have a look in the local press and find out where your nearest flea market is being run.

  • Jumble sales: Schools, churches and villages run jumble sales throughout the year and you’ll always find plenty of stalls full of bric-a-brac items. Pop to a jumble sale and you could return home with a car full of pre-loved items.

  • Charity shops: Most high streets have a number of charity shops and they’re full of second hand items. They’re not always the cheapest option but you at least you know any money you hand over is going to a worthy cause.

  • Online sites: The internet is home to a number of pre-loved sites like ours at Lush and Green. Look online and you’ll find the home of pre-loved goods. Simply sit in your favourite armchair and browse for countless second hand products that are looking for a good home.
